DERMAL ROLLER

DERMAL ROLLER

Dermal Roller treatments work by introducing a series of fine needles (attached to a single use, sterile roller) into the skin to create many small channels at various penetration depths.

The controlled damage to the dermis encourages the body to produce more new collagen and elastin, which generate new skin cells to literally “repair” itself, thus the skin in texture, tone and elasticity, giving a more youthful appearance. The appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and stretch marks can also be improved.

This treatment takes about 30 minutes. Initially, make up is removed and the skin is cleaned. A topical anaesthetic is then applied to the area/s to be treated. A dermal roller is then applied to the skin. As the treatment progresses sensitivity increases and the skin will feel warm and appear flushed. A soothing moisturising bruise preventative cream is then applied.

At between 1 to 3 weeks the skins texture and tone and will improve and pigmentation will change. The appearance of lines, wrinkles and scarring will improve also. Best results are seen between 1 and 3 months after the course has been completed. Changes in acne scarring or stretch-mark appearance will be permanent and skin rejuvenation results will last about 6 months.

For optimal results a course of treatment is usually recommended (2-3 treatments per year).
